Luxury Swiss brand Hublot held a special event in Shanghai on Friday evening to mark its first anniversary as the Official Watchmaker of Formula 1, unveil its new F1 King Power Ceramic watch and celebrate this weekend's 2011 FORMULA 1 UBS CHINESE GRAND PRIX.
Jean-Claude Biver, Hublot CEO, and Chinese celebrity Han Han were both in attendance at the glamorous press conference and VIP dinner. A rally driver, best-selling author and the country's most popular blogger, Han was announced as a new goodwill ambassador for Hublot during the evening and will be charged with promoting racing in China and supporting young Chinese drivers. The run from Turns 13 to 14 totals 1170m - the equivalent to 11 football pitches laid end to end, or the same length as three and a half of the world's biggest aircraft carriers - and represents one of the toughest tests of the year for a Formula One engine. Sebastian Vettel continued to set the pace for Red Bull in Shanghai on Friday afternoon, but instead of being two seconds ahead of Lewis Hamilton's McLaren the gap was only 0.166s, and Jenson Button was only 0.247s away.
On a track that was still very slippery, as several drivers, Vettel among them, illustrated with off-course moments, the world champion lapped in 1m 37.688s compared to the McLaren drivers' respective bests of 1m 37.854s and 1m 37.935s. More...

Sebastian Vettel topped the timesheets during the first practice session of the weekend at the Shanghai International Circuit on Friday, with the Red Bull Racing driver aiming for his third pole position, and fifth victory in succession. The German posted a time of 1:38.739 to lead team-mate Mark Webber by more than half a second, with McLarens Lewis Hamilton in third. More...
